Physically the hotel is magnificent. However, services are not good. This hotel was the first hotel I paid for the hotel's fitness area even though I stayed there. This hotel was the first hotel to say to me: “Your room is ready, but you need to pay for an early check-in”.

Sofia is the Bulgarian capital and its largest city, situated at the foot of Vitosha Mountain in the very center of the Balkan Peninsula. With a variety of architectural styles, picturesque scenery and easy access to outdoor activities, this city is a definite must-see!
From well-preserved city walls built in the 7th century BC through to the early Medieval buildings. From the 4th-century Rotunda St. George and 10th-century Boyana Church with its stunning 13th-century frescoes to Socialist-era monumental constructions, Sofia is a real treat for history lovers.
Most of the popular landmarks are located in the Oborishte district, the most central part of the city featuring plenty of greenery, cobbled streets and the most popular landmark, the Neo-Byzantine Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Sofia has plenty of natural sites too, including the renowned thermal and mineral springs, the primary reason Thracians established the city here before the 7th century BC. Enjoy a walk in the most popular parks, the Borisova gradina or the impressive Vitosha Nature Park with more than 6,500 acres within the city limits.
From hiking to skiing on the Vitosha and from sightseeing to relaxing in mineral springs, Sofia has plenty of fun for everyone! On Booking.com you can find nearly 190 properties in the city, from 5-star central accommodations to convenient hotels near Sofia Airport.

Sofia is a beautiful city with gorgeous architecture but you have to be prepared for the collapsing buildings and empty lots with rubbish. The pavements are also in bad shape so watch where you step.
People are very friendly and speak good English.
The city is very walkable and the public transport excellent and cheap. You just use your contactless card to pay for the ticket. So easy!
Be sure to do the Free walking tour and Communist tour by the 365 company - these are excellent ways to get to know more about the city and its history. The guides are really knowledgeable and ready to answer all your questions.
The Rila Monastery day trip with Boyana and a visit to St Ivan's cave is really worth it. Our tour company Traventuria did an excellent job. If it's a cold period, make sure you dress warmly, as the mountain is much colder than in Sofia.
Hadjidraganov's Houses restaurant is an excellent place to get to know Bulgarian food. Never miss the Shopska salad!
Make sure you visit the Socialist Art Museum, it's a short metro ride away.
I absolutely adore Sofia, hope you enjoy it too!

Missed out on a few things.
Missed out on a few things. It is important to plan your stay to make the most of the City. Not easy to find all the sites of interest easily. But it was a compact city ewith most sites of attraction in a small area. Thriving city centre with great and cheap public transport

Bulgaria is cheaper than other Balkan countries.
Bulgaria is cheaper than other Balkan countries. We had some nice meals (apart from at our hotel) and a lovely evening of traditional food and music at a local restaurant. The mall is really quite big, with loads of shops and restaurants.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Geppy. It was very clean, the staff were friendly and professional and the room was very good for the price. The room had very good sound proofing, comfortable memory foam mattresses on the beds, the bathroom was clean and had a bath mat! (that's a first for me in Bulgaria) and there was a small balcony for the smokers.
Compared to other hotels of a similar price, this was by far the best we have had in Sofia. I look forward to staying next time we are in town.
The hotel was very comfortable and I will stay there every time I need to go to Sofia. The receptionist was extremely helpful as they should be. Bulgaria has a lot to learn about customer service. But this hotel has learned a lot. Well done! I will be back Bernadette Leggett
Hotel in a good location next to the zoo. there is somewhere to park your car. Nice dry sauna (high temperature appropriate). The room and equipment are ok. The view of the zoo is ok, but the noise is worse. The reception staff was very nice and helpful. Rare in Bulgaria.
The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from the city center. The breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide variety of options. While, some of the staff lacked a bit of politeness (a common experience in Bulgaria), overall, it was an enjoyable stay.
The room is spacious, clean and modern. Bed was really comfortable. Staff was really helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and it has a lot of options to choose from. When I return to Bulgaria I will for sure come back to this hotel.
