I got to spend a few days here off and on and it was lovely to discover the museums, local restaurants (some really incredible), bars, shops and even took flights, cruises and busses from and to here while solo traveling through Finland for three weeks. Turku was a springboard for visiting Finland's wooden villages, with our son who goes to school in Helsinki. He wanted to have more time in Turku. What we saw of Turku was charming and easy. Wonderful medium size city. I like the river Aura, the monuments and the tranquility of the city and Turku citizens. The majority of the population speaks English very well and they are kind and polite. I like everything about Turku and Finland. The marina boat museum.The Castle unbelieveable spent 4 hours there,The river and refreshment cafes along the river bank The museum particular the old monastery museum. The wonderfull cathedral The botanical gardens amazing. The shops. Seeing the deer as you drive through the roads with the glades amongst the trees anode course the wonder of the children and adults when the go to Moominworld.
