United StatesOne night stay on a 10 day driving tour of Oman. Room was decent sized and the bed firm but sleepable. Mini fridge to cool water. There is a very good little seafood restaurant about 100 m down the street. Vastly preferable to the hotel buffet and probably 1/4 the price. Lots of parking. The hotel seems to be popular with tour companies so they are set up for mass meals. Breakfast had a decent selection. Seem to be a good choice from what we saw around Sur.

CanadaThe staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room and our sheets were very clean. For a low star hotel our stay was very good for one night. There are a few restaurants right around the corner. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on that.

Sur was a nice surprise.
Sur was a nice surprise. We were planning on going to the sea turtles reserve in Ras Al Jinz, but it was not the season, so we ended up in Sur instead. Thea beach is very nice as well as the souq. We had nice breakfast at Sahari Restaurant and hiked up to the tower next to it to see the views over the town. Only best place to book is Ra's al jinz resort to see...
Only best place to book is Ra's al jinz resort to see turtles laying eggs. Walk from the resort to the nesting beach is around 1.5 km wear comfortable shoes. Nothing else to do except turtle watch. Avoid the turtle museum on second floor it's not at all maintained and charges 2 RO ( 5 USD) not worth. Small town - not a huge amount to do here, we went for a walk along the beach, looked at the lighthouse, and ate at Zaki restaurant (try the butter chicken). We mainly stayed there to break up the journey between the Bimmah Sinkhole (beautiful and definitely worth a visit!), and Wahiba sands. Seemed like an underdeveloped and old city. My experience was spoilt due to Covid regulations. We did a PCR Test in Nizwa City (Badr Al Samaa Hospital - they claimed that the reports could be collected from any of their branches in other cities). While the bathroom and toilet combined was a little unusual, it all worked out very well. The bed was very comfortable and the wifi much faster than most places in Oman. We also liked the fact that it was only 100m to the bus stop for the Muscat run and was surrounded by restaurants in the centre of town.
