My stay at Vasiev’s Hotel in Samarkand was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel is perfectly located near a mall and the city center, making it easy to explore the area. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how well-maintained and spotless everything was—the hotel truly looks brand new!
The rooms were spacious, offering plenty of comfort, and the washrooms were impeccably clean, which is always a huge plus. The surrounding area also has plenty of restaurants, making dining options convenient.
What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the outstanding service. The staff was incredibly professional and welcoming, and a special mention goes to Max, who was an excellent host. His hospitality made my experience even more memorable.
Vasiev’s Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re visiting Samarkand, this is definitely the place to stay. Highly recommended!

Samarkand is famous for its stunning Islamic monuments, and they truly are worth visiting for. However, the city also has some amazing archaeology and more recent history to offer. I enjoyed looking at the courtyard-house neighbourhoods, big city boulevards with busy traffic, and the buzzling bazaars. Food here is delicious everywhere you go, so I would return just for that alone. In the surroundings of the city, there are historical landmarks and nature sites that seem interesting. Therefore, I would recommend staying several days in Samarkand.

A visit to Samarkand is a step back in time in more ways than one. Step in to the past of the silk route and visit the majestic madrasas and mausoleums and lesser explored historic districts of the old town where you will find centuries old traders houses and courtyards.
Step back into the former Soviet Union, socialist architecture, hearty foods and relics of a Soviet Socialist past.

Samarkand left us a bit puzzled.
Samarkand left us a bit puzzled. While it offers stunning monuments and a rich history to explore for a day, there isn’t much to do beyond that. Siyob Bazaar has some touristy items, but it didn’t feel particularly unique. Unfortunately, our visit to Mikon Mall was disappointing due to encountering some blatantly racist behavior (which I even recorded). However, apart from that experience, the people across Uzbekistan were warm and welcoming, which truly enhanced our trip.

Samarkand is a city of incredible historical and cultural significance, often regarded as one of the jewels of Central Asia. It is located in modern-day Uzbekistan and has been a key center of commerce, science, and culture for over 2,500 years. The city's history stretches from its role as an ancient Silk Road hub to its prominence during the Timurid Empire under the rule of Timur.

This is a family owned guesthouse. The owner is very friendly and always helpful. His wife prepares every day a delicious breakfast. Location is great, all main sites are within walking distance, e.g. the Registan. A big shout out to the reception clerk, very friendly and super helpful and he always serves delicious green tea with some sweets. Samarkand was one of the highlights of our trip to Uzbekistan and for sure this guesthouse was a little gem! Highly recommended
Proximity to station was why I choose the hotel. The hotel is superb- my room, the cleanliness, the ammenities, the comfortable bed and staff (Parvis) were all 10/10. Possibly the warmest reception I have received at a hotel in Uzbekistan - thank you so much for the coffee/snack and room upgrade- incredible service.
The breakfast was also very nice in a spacious dining room or small garden.
Loved it
Cleanest hotel in Samarkand (and I mean that, we haven't seen another hotel this clean in Uzbekistan)! Beds are sturdy and great. Amazingly nice host who is willing to help, a good breakfast and a good location close to Gur-e Amir and the University in a neighborhood for people who want to see the daily life in Samarkand.
The atmosphere in the hotel. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We always got tea and snacks when we came back from sightseeing. Breakfast was very good.
It was our favourite accomodation during our 10 day Uzbekistan journey!
The hotel was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended a very good restaurant serving Uzbekistan food about 700m away.
