Located within the walls of Óbidos, this boutique hotel offers air-conditioned rooms with a balcony overlooking the castle walls. It has a regional restaurant and a terrace bar.

The room was lovely. The daily breakfasts were very nice. The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond. Sofia was so very helpful and helped us solve a problem with our television not working properly and eventually moved us to another room. We will stay here again. Thank you!

Located in the charming medieval town of Óbidos, this graceful and recently-renovated 4-star hotel allows guests immediate experiences of Portugal's historic charm.

Located just outside of Obidos Castle Wall. Easy walk into the entrance. Juel or John was very nice and gave us info on how to get to Porto by bus.

The Literary Man Óbidos Hotel is a unique literary hotel and the biggest in the world.

Beautifully maintained old building, an intricate maze of corridors and staircases, each room retaining an individual character, decorated and updated to allow modern facilities. Excellent restaurant. The books certainly add to the ambience.

This hotel is located within one of the 7 wonders of Portugal, Castelo de Óbidos. It combines 14th century medieval accommodations with modern facilities in the heart of the village of Óbidos.

We loved the castle, the staff were wonderful and accommodating. The rooms however are a little tired and need a refresh! However the bed was comfortable and the bedding was nice. It was a fun experience staying in such a historic castle. We would recommend staying.

Well located in the Obidos Medieval Town district of Óbidos, Casa Lidador - Obidos is located a 3-minute walk from Obidos Castle, 24 miles from Monastery of Alcobaca and 16 miles from Peniche...

The property it self was nice and clean, pretty basic. It was really raining and the water got in the room.

Obidos is a truly beautiful place to visit - outstanding surrounding countryside, the town itself has exquisite cobbled roads, pretty buildings, shops with a vast array of items for tourists some of which were unique such as the filigree jewellery and sardine tins with many types of fish and more - you need to see for yourself! As some of the roads are steep I would be wary on wet days or at least wear the right shoes. Dinner at Book and Cook, The Literary Man Hotel was amazing. I ate every crumb off my main course and dessert plates!

Obidos was incredible. . . definitely worth seeing if staying in Lisbon or traveling up to Porto. If I had to do it again, I would've made it a stop-over or day-trip vs. staying overnight. . . would've likely stayed overnight in Nazare instead. But, enjoyed our stay here, and a must-do if in this area of Portugal.

Obidos is a worthwhile visit and staying overnight is the best way to experience the place as it’s quieter when all the day visitors leave. There are lovely shops and restaurants and we really enjoyed Jamon Jamon . Also the Ginginha was delicious. Beautiful architecture and the ancient walls looked interesting but because it was raining we didn’t climb them.

    We loved walking the wall.

We loved walking the wall. Some of the shops had unique crafts. We loved an original piece of art of the city that a woman made with coffee water color. We added a trip to Alcobaça to see the monastery during our short stay. In general we loved exploring the little streets and talking to a local man explaining a lot of history to us. There was a chocolate festival going on in one corner of the city, but we did not attend.

Interesting small town, city walls have good views, it would be no good in the rain as the cobbled streets would be too slippy. Good for a day trip or an overnight trip. Good choice of restaurants and cafes

If you have the time it's a charming historic town.

If you have the time it's a charming historic town. The incredible Moorish wall wraps all around the town and is walkable for the brave. The narrow streets are lined with fun shops and restaurants and it's almost the only place to sample local cherry liquor in chocolate "cups". And there's a fantastic book shop in an old church in the town centre that has books in many different languages including history of region and cookbooks. One or two days is sufficient to see everything.

Wonderful space, perfect in every way. Excellently equipped, and the aircon and dehumidifier were really effective, so it was super comfortable. The location is ideal - just 2 mins from Porta da Vila, and 1 road back from the main street. Despite that, it was absolutely peaceful. There is free parking just outside the town wall, but it is not signposted - the entrance is next to Caixa Geral de Depósitos, N8, 2510-089 Óbidos, Portugal.

The location ( castle and parking) were great. The host even online was available and helpful. I liked that the place is a renovated old house. It matches the medieval place (Óbidos). It is cozy and the space is well used. The decoration is simple and that gives a sense of calm, and is useful. The bedroom has good space and you don't remember you are in a small house.

Relatively easy to find, great to have on site parking. The small room is very tidy and clean. Because it is small everything has been thought about and the space is very well used, without being too cluttered. Microwave is excellent. Small fridge is not very cold. Excellent WiFi. Located just 10-15 minutes stroll into Obidos walled city, which is why we chose it.

The house is beautifully located in the vicinity of the pittoresque medieval town of Obidos and close to various beaches. The appartment is very spacy and furnished in a rustic style. The swimming pool is fabulous. It is a very quiet place and perfect to rest. The kitchen has all the equipment you need. Francisco is a very welcoming and helpful host.
